I am qualified to work with adults and young people aged 12 and over on a short term or long term basis.
Short term therapy is structured and useful to learn tools, techniques and new ways to deal with life’s difficult situations.
Long term therapy is less structured and provides opportunities to work through the sources of our suffering, emotional pain or trauma history. It offers opportunities for reparative relationships to occur and the means of discovering new, healthier ways of emotionally regulating oneself.
All therapy can be difficult; symptoms may worsen before they start to improve. This is a normal process, if you notice any adverse changes, please discuss these with your therapist.
I use evidence-based theory and techniques derived from contemporary trauma research, neuroscience, combined with psychodynamic and humanistic therapy. I can offer support with:
- Depression
- Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
- Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
- Anxiety Disorders
- Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
- Living with long term health conditions
- Bereavement
- Issues facing carers
- Domestic Violence
- Sexual Violence
- Interpersonal difficulties
- The effects of childhood abuse and neglect
